Rooted in faith
Many in our church family are Nepali-speaking Bhutanese whose lives were changed by displacement from Bhutan beginning in 1991. During nearly two decades in refugee camps in Nepal, believers continued worshiping Jesus, sharing the gospel, and trusting God through hardship and persecution.
Resettlement opened a new chapter in the United States. Around 2009, a small Bhutanese–Nepali fellowship began gathering in Seattle, Washington. With few families but a strong desire to worship, believers met under lay leadership and received encouragement from local churches.
A church takes shape
After a season of prayer and fasting for pastoral leadership, Rev. Gopi C. Silwal joined the fellowship on August 15, 2011. Drawing on years of ministry in Nepal and India, he helped establish leaders, strengthen believers, and organize the church originally known as Bhutanese Nepali Christian Community Church.
God’s Worship Christian Church now serves from Etna, Ohio, continuing the same calling: to pray for communities and nations, develop and educate people, provide help where it is needed, and proclaim Jesus Christ.

Our mission today
Our mission is to share the gospel and pray for communities and nations, with a special heart for Nepali-speaking families. We seek to develop righteousness, teach biblical truth, raise leaders, and serve our neighbors in the love of Christ.
What we believe
We believe God created all things, the Bible is inspired by God and authoritative for life, and one God is revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We practice baptism and the Lord’s Supper and seek to live faithfully according to Scripture.
